ABOUT ASHTON KNIGHT
BIOGRAPHY
My name is Ashton Knight, an 18 year old aspiring photographer from South Yorkshire.
My love for photography began when I was 14 years old, I would go in the back garden and snap shots of anything I could find- Flowers, leaves, birds, you name it.
My first camera was gifted to me on my 15th Birthday (A Fujifilm FinePix s1800) which I treasured.
When I moved high school, I had the option to do photography as a GCSE, which proved a successful choice as I really enjoyed it, and managed to land a grade 9.
Once I hit college I knew photography was the thing I wanted to pursue, so I was offered an unconditional place studying photography at level 3. During this time I realised the genre I loved the most was commercial photography, so I began buying relevant equipment to help improve my abilities as an armature photographer.
In late 2020, I had entered The Cooper Prize 2021 competition to have my work showcased in a local gallery (The Cooper Gallery, Barnsley). My work was shortlisted to be shown in a 3 month exhibition.
Aside from photography I enjoy drawing digitally and traditionally, cooking meals and singing.
